Standards we strongly encourage
Armstrong's Supreme Team K9 Registry strongly encourages every seller to follow the standards below. They are not legal requirements, except where noted, but they are the practices that keep buyers happy, dogs healthy, and disputes rare. Sellers who self-attest to all 15 items earn a public "Verified Standards" badge displayed on their listings, breeder profile, and escrow receipts. The badge reflects the seller's self-attestation only — not an independent audit by the Registry.
Health & screening
Strongly encouraged- 1Hip and elbow evaluation (OFA, PennHIP, or equivalent) on the dam and sire prior to breeding for breeds prone to dysplasia.
- 2A breed-appropriate genetic disease panel run on both parents (e.g., DM for working breeds, MDR1 for herding breeds, vWD for Dobermans). Results disclosed to the buyer.
- 3Annual eye exam (CAER / OFA Eye) on parents for breeds at risk of inherited eye disease.
- 4A licensed veterinarian's wellness exam on the puppy within 72 hours before transfer of ownership, with a written report shared with the buyer.
- 5Age-appropriate core vaccinations (DA2PP and Bordetella, with rabies once age-eligible) given by a licensed veterinarian and documented on a vaccine certificate.
- 6A documented deworming schedule beginning at 2–3 weeks of age and repeated at 5, 7, and 9 weeks at minimum.
Transfer & documentation
Strongly encouraged · several items required by law in many U.S. states- 1Puppies are not transferred to a buyer before 8 weeks of age. Required by law in many U.S. states.
- 2Each puppy is microchipped (ISO 11784/11785, 15-digit) and the chip is registered to the buyer at transfer. Required by Armstrong's transfer flow.
- 3For sales that cross state lines, a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within 30 days of transport. Required by USDA APHIS and most states.
- 4The puppy's individual registration paperwork (or a written promise of paperwork on a defined timeline) accompanies the sale.
- 5A written sales contract signed by both parties covering price, deposit, return-to-breeder rights, and any spay/neuter expectations.
Health guarantee
Strongly encouraged- 1A written health guarantee covering inherited / congenital conditions for at least 24 months from the date of sale, with replacement-puppy or partial-refund language.
- 2A 72-hour buyer satisfaction window allowing return for a full refund if the buyer's vet identifies an undisclosed health condition during the post-sale exam.
Ethical breeding & placement
Strongly encouraged- 1Reasonable buyer screening — a short questionnaire covering home environment, prior dog experience, and intended use.
- 2Return-to-breeder clause: if the buyer can no longer keep the dog at any point in its life, the seller will take it back rather than letting it enter a shelter.
Important legal notice
These standards are guidance only. Armstrong's Supreme Team K9 Registry acts solely as a venue connecting buyers and sellers; it is NOT the seller, NOT the breeder, NOT a party to any transaction, and NOT a guarantor of any animal's health, lineage, temperament, or fitness for any purpose. The Registry does not independently verify any individual seller's compliance with these standards, and a "Verified Standards" badge reflects the seller's self-attestation only — not an independent audit. The Registry disclaims all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law and shall have no liability arising from any sale, transfer, breeding, or other transaction conducted between users. Buyers must perform their own due diligence, including but not limited to verifying health-test results, requesting written contracts, and obtaining an independent veterinary examination prior to or shortly after taking ownership. Items marked "required by law in many U.S. states" are common legal baselines but vary by jurisdiction; sellers are responsible for confirming and complying with their own state and local laws.
Verified standards appears next to sellers who have self-attested to the full checklist above. Effective 2026-05-08.
